Hi There!

I'm a triathlete, I'm a grad student, and I forget I have a blog frequently!

Whoa! First Post!

So I decided to start a blog. Well, I had the idea that I wanted to do one for a while now, but I was just too lazy to make one. Anyways, I obviously did it, and now I have to come up with stuff to fill it with. So here we go!

I had an awesome run this morning. Even though it was super slippery, I held a good pace, and nailed my HR zone. I've only been training under Mary for about a month, and I'm seeing results! I love it, it's so easy to keep going, and keep motivated when every time you go out you see those little gains. I'm seeing them in the pool, I'm seeing them out running, and I'm feeling them on the bike (being a poor grad student, who has to pay for an Ironman, and a wedding next summer I can't afford fancy doodads like powermeters). I'm sure if I hadn't already done two or three other workouts by the time I play water polo on those nights, I'd see improvements there too. All of this is making me more and more excited for the prospects of the season ahead. I know that there will be rough patches, and I know that my running needs a lot of work, but I'm not worried. It's a good feeling going from training on your own, having no real idea of what you're doing, to being part of a plan. I've only been at it like six weeks now, but I know that Mary has a plan for me, and that when July rolls around; and I'm standing in Mirror Lake with like 3000 other nutjobs; I'll be ready to throw down in a BIG way, so watch out.

219 days to go.
